Wiztopic opens New York office in expansion of wiztrust verification platform to combat fake financial news

New York, NY, USA, September 20, 2019

NEW YORK, NY – Wiztopic today announced the opening of its New York City office to support the global expansion of Wiztrust, its certification platform designed to prevent fake financial news.

Wiztrust launched in early 2019 as an extension of Wiztopic, a software that empowers communications and investor relations teams at nearly 50 large financial services and publicly traded companies around the world. Wiztrust was designed to address the growing problem of fake news in the corporate and financial world.

Over the past 10 years, top brands including BlackrockFitbitGooglePfizerSamsung and Shell have been the victim of hacktivists and hackers who forged press releases and spoofed websites, seeking to profit from the resultant stock swings. These announcements drove inaccurate press coverage by prestigious outlets such as the Associated Press, Bloomberg, CNBC, Dow Jones Newswires, the Financial Times, Fox Business News and The Washington Post.

“Incidents of corporate fake news are increasing each year, and will only intensify with the rise of deepfake videos and falsified financial releases,” said co-founder Raphaël Labbé. “By opening an office on Wall Street, we’re better equipped to support the growing need for Wiztrust in the U.S.”

Wiztrust uses blockchain technology to generate a unique fingerprint for a content file, allowing companies to easily certify the announcements they distribute to press, investors and analysts. These target audiences can then verify the content’s authenticity in one drag and drop through Wiztrust.com

In the past six months, 20 Wiztopic clients have implemented Wiztrust to certify their corporate news, including Allianz, Air Liquide, Beneteau Group, Klepierre, Bouygues and Schneider Electric. These clients range in industry from financial services to insurance, pharmaceutical, real estate and utilities.

Recently Wiztopic’s founders have briefed news outlets about corporate fake news incidents that drove inaccurate coverage and stock price activity.  Many of these newsrooms now use the software to validate corporate news issued by Wiztrust clients.

Wiztrust was created by Wiztopic, the publisher of a platform solution for communications teams of financial and publicly listed companies. With Wiztopic, companies can manage, distribute and measure the performance of their content. With Wiztrust they can now protect their content and shareholders interest. Discover Wiztrust here.
